Happy Election Day! Or should I say, “Scary and unnerving election day!”?
This year, 2016, has been a hard one, hasn’t it? Watching the debates (I don’t know how many of you have been watching), has been pretty frustrating!! One thing I’ve been continually struggling with through this year is trust.
I need to remember that God is in control of everything. I need to remember that our good and faithful Father is sovereign. I know… it takes a ton of faith to remember that through this somewhat chaotic time. I would love to share with you some verses that, hopefully, will encourage you.
“Many are the plans in the mind of man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand.” (Pro. 19:21)
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isa. 55:8-11)
“For kingship belongs to the Lord, and He rules over the nations.” (Psa. 22:28)
“The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” (Pro. 16:9)
“This God– His way is perfect; the Word of the Lord proves true; He is a shield for all those who refuge in Him. For who is God, but the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God? This God is my strong refuge and has made my way blameless.” (1 Sam. 22:31-33)
Have faith! No matter what happens, no matter who comes into office next, Our Heavenly Father is in charge of the WHOLE THING!
One more verse…
“We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves.” (1 Thes. 5:12-13)
Even though we may disagree with what our leaders say and do, God has called us to respect them, as He has put them over us.
Blessings from the girl who’s trying to look to Christ for hope, and who’s on pins and needles waitin’ to see who’s elected!
