Here is Jenna McCarthy’s 3rd poem! Enjoy, everyone!

Heaven’s First Night

By Jenna McCarthy

The Star shone bright

On a night dark and clear

It twinkled and sparkled

Yet silent to hear

So far away there

So far yet so near

For this was Heavens First Night

Down below the great Star

Was a boy young and bright

Who shone like the Star

On that long and cold Night

He was born in a stable

And His birth was a sight

Yes this was Heavens First Night

Shepherds in fields

Watching their sheep

Were tired and hungry

And longing for sleep

Then Angels from Heaven

Made their hearts leap

For this was Heavens First Night

The shepherds they jumped

The jostled and sprang

The Angels rejoiced

And they danced and they sang

Hundreds and hundreds

Their loud voices rang

For this was Heavens First Night

They were told to travel

And follow the Star

They packed up and left

For they were to walk far

Once they got there they paused

The door was ajar

This was Heavens First Night

The shepherds crept in

And they gazed at the Prince

They hadn’t seen anything

That beautiful since

And the Angels description

Did to convince

For this was Heavens First Night

The little Boy smiled

With eyes soft and pure

To these Shepherds hearts

This Boy is the cure

This Boy is a blessing

He is here to assure

Yes, this is Heaven’s First Night
